Freight Sales Executive
The Freight Sales Executive is responsible for identifying and acquiring new business opportunities in the freight and logistics sector, managing client relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales targets. This role involves proactive sales activities, developing and presenting solutions to clients, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure service excellence. Key Responsibilities: Business Development: Identify Prospects: Identify and target potential clients in the freight and logistics industry through research, networking, and market analysis. Lead Generation: Generate leads through cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, and attending industry events and trade shows. Client Acquisition: Develop and execute strategies to acquire new clients, presenting tailored freight solutions to meet their specific needs. Sales and Relationship Management: Sales Presentation: Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations, effectively communicating the value proposition of the company's freight services. Negotiate Contracts: Negotiate terms and close sales contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for freight services. Client Consultation and Solution Development: Understand Client Needs: Consult with clients to understand their logistics requirements and challenges. Develop Solutions: Develop and propose customized freight solutions that align with client needs and company capabilities. Service Optimization: Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure the successful implementation and optimization of freight solutions. Sales Planning and Reporting: Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve or exceed sales targets. Sales Forecasting: Prepare sales forecasts and reports, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement. Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats. Customer Service and Issue Resolution: Client Support: Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving any issues related to freight services. Issue Management: Handle and resolve any service issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner. Collaboration and Teamwork: Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of freight solutions. Team Contribution: Contribute to team goals and initiatives, sharing insights and best practices to support overall sales success. Compliance and Documentation: Maintain Records: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and contract details. Ensure Compliance: Ensure all sales activities and client contracts comply with company policies and industry regulations. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably within the freight, logistics, or transportation industry. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing new business. Skills: Sales Acumen: Strong sales skills with the ability to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and close deals. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to clients and stakeholders. Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable terms and close contracts. Customer Focus: High level of customer service orientation, with a commitment to understanding and meeting client needs. Technical: Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools. Familiarity with logistics and freight management systems is a plus. Personal Attributes: Results-driven and self-motivated. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions: Office and Field Work: Split between office-based activities and fieldwork, including client meetings and site visits. Travel: Occasional travel required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and visit company sites. Hours: Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
